Federal
Education Leaders Council ELC
The Education Leader Council is a membership organization of reform minded State Chiefs of Education. ELC states believes that the focus of education should be on students, not the school system. The system exists to serve students. Student achievement and performance should be reported in a way that is easily understood by parents and taxpayers. Parents and teachers should be empowered to explore various approaches to education because when it comes down to it, parents and teachers educate children not bureaucracies. Finally, states and local school boards are better prepared to spend our education tax dollars than the federal government.
